This involves a small system placed in your body. The spinal cord stimulator system looks and works a lot like a pacemaker. The device is implanted around the spinal cord and emits electrical impulses. These impulses are able to alter the way that the brain perceives pain signals coming in and usually decrease the pain medication necessary for pain relief.
